First in an occasional series

I came across the following info recently from the Wood Prairie Farm newsletter and thought you might like to know.

“The Farming Systems Trial located at the Rodale Institute in Pennsylvania is the  longest running side-by-side study in the United States comparing chemical agriculture with organic farming.  The study shows consistent results of organic yields matching those of conventional farming and actually organic surpassing chemical especially in years of environmental distress.”

Another reason to grow organic.

By the way Wood Prairie Farm is an organic farm in Maine which raises potatoes and other crops (I get my seed potatoes from them). They have an interesting newsletter you can subscribe to. I definitely recommend heir products.
